What is the CCSF?

First established in 2004, the CCSF is a celebration of our passion for the Creatures series, during which all members of the community are encouraged to produce something to share with each other. The CCSF for 2009 will be held from November 1st until November 14th, with a theme of time to remind us of where we've come from and where we're going.

Day Zero: The Creatures

on Saturday

I know that the CCSF doesn’t start for another day (give or take several hours depending on where you are in the world), but I decided that I’d just go ahead and raise this issue early.

For this year’s CCSF, we ask that you submit all norns, grendels, ettins, geats, grorns, nendels, grettins, endels, neats, greats, eeats or any other kind of creature that you’d like to share with us to The Creatures Repository.  When you hit the ’submit’ button you’ll notice that there’s a field labelled ‘groups’ – we ask that you please enter ccsf09 into this field for any creatures that you intend to submit for this year’s CCSF.

Why do this, you ask?  In ElasticMuffin’s own words: “I prefer the use of a group rather than a tag for this because the tags are generally intended for information about the creature itself, not why it was posted. Groups fill the “I posted this norn during <an event>” niche nicely.”  With all submissions in the one group, it’s very easy for us to find all creatures submitted for this year’s CCSF just by clicking this link at any point in time over the next two weeks and even after the festival is over.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you all submit, and I hope that you are too!
