Day Ten Release: C3/DS Genetic Breed

on Tuesday

It’s day ten of this year’s Creatures Community Spirit Festival, and I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m feeling pretty spoiled at the moment.  We’ve had so many fantastic releases already, and the best part is that it’s not over yet!

Today I bring you another great genetic breed from C1anddsaddict, the Algae Norns!  The readme for this breed is very comprehensive, so I think I’ll leave the rest of this post up to my two good friends, copy and paste:

History-

The algae norns v1 were on my site, Ds village, but were only available via a badly made egg agent that didn’t work. They were taken down and that was the last of that breed. Or, at least, until the CCSF 09.

For CCSF 2009, I decided to go back to my old breeds that weren’t released or didn’t work properly and re-do them, as well as releasing a second beta of a breed, the traitor grendels, that I’d been working on for a long time.

Info/breeding guide-

The Algae norns are friendly from birth, but unable to successfully mate until adulthood. They are very short-lived, but breed like crazy. They’re friendly creatures, happy to eat, sleep and mate. They’re amphibious and can swim using Grendelman’s improved swimmeragent. They don’t need much help, but it’s best that you don’t keep them in the c3 aquarium or Aquatilis, as I’ve had trouble getting them to lay their eggs there. They use Nano and ghost norn sprites.

Story-

Aqua-Anaisa watched her norns, ettins and grendels splashing around in Norngarden 4. This aquatic run had gotten up to the 50th generation, but now Aqua-Anaisa was getting bored. Every once in a while, a shark grendel would go on a killing frenzy and wipe out a bunch of norns, but that was rare and while it was fun to watch, she didn’t want to have all of her norns wiped out and have to start from generation 1. So, she had to break it up if the grendel got too close to the main norn population. So, she decided to do one of two things, either abandon this world and start a new one, or open up a warp portal for a little bit of variety.

She chose to do the latter and in a few minutes of random warping and asking for creatures, she had three little norns in her world, one green, super-breeder chichi, one fast-aging nano norn and an amphinous, adult ghost norn. Before she knew it, they were all breeding like rabbits and Aqua-Anaisa was forced to warp them out or risk having them out-breed her aquatic creatures. She looked at the little clutch of eggs that lay on the ground and decided to hatch them, see what they were going to hatch into.

After a couple of minutes. Cracks appeared in the first egg and out came a creature with a nano-norn head and everything else was ghost norn. It had a green tint and reminded Aqua-Anaisa of algae. She looked at their dna and saw that they could breathe underwatee, swim and they were short-lived. so, she released them into Norngarden 4 with her other creatures. Then, as they hit adulthood, they were breeding like rabbits. They WERE almost just like algae, so That would be their name, the algae norns.”

That’s quite clever! I’m not a huge fan of the aquatic breeds, but I think I’m going to have to try these norns out.
